Cracking Easter Breaks at Ballymaloe House for the Easter Weekend. Hop along to Ballymaloe House and let us treat you and your family to a traditional Easter in the surrounds of our early spring garden and farm. There is plenty to do nearby with Jameson Distillery, Fota Wildlife Park & gardens, Youghal Clock Tower, Ballymaloe Cookery school and the Ballycotton Cliff Walk amongst others.
Arrive to the welcoming Ballymaloe Drawing room fire and on Friday evening and enjoy a leisurely dinner at Ballymaloe House.
During the day, explore our 300 acre farm and wander along our walking paths and admire the spring buds turning into summer flowers.
Delight in a traditional piece of Simnel cake* and hot cross buns with some afternoon tea beside the fire.
*Simnel cake is traditionally eaten at Easter and made historically by female servants to take to their families on rare visits home. Not only delicious, it is a symbolic Easter cake decorated to signify aspects of Christianity. 11 marzipan balls are placed around the circular marzipan coated cake depicting 11 disciples. Although there were 12 apostles of Jesus Christ, Judas Iscariot betrayed him and is therefore omitted.
The weekend will also include our wonderful Easter Egg hunt before dinner on Sunday evening.
Offer includes Three Nights Dinner, Bed & Full Irish Breakfast, Ballymaloe Tea & Cake on each day of your stay.
Friday & Saturday evening includes our 5 course dinner while Easter Sunday night dinner includes a 3 course dinner.
